The University of the Peloponnese was established in 2000 and rapidly expanded throughout the Peloponnese region, with more than 25,000 students and 350 academic staff members. For the past 21 years, it has focused on strengthening research and education across all its disciplines.

The Department of Informatics and Telecommunications was the first department established at the University of the Peloponnese and has been operating since 2002. With 34 academic staff members, 3 postgraduate programmes and 10 funded research projects currently under way, it plays a leading role in the University’s educational and research activities.
